PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO COUNCIL TO HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS!
The meeting agenda does not allow sufficient time for residents to speak during the first comments section and we are requesting that council adjust the agenda to increase time from 30 minutes to at least one hour. By simply sending the below email, YOU can help your neighbors get the time they need to provide feedback to the town council. We made it fast and easy -- just click the link below!
Dear Mayor Anderson and Councilmembers,
I respectfully request that you extend the first “Comments from Citizens” portion of tonight’s meeting to at least one full hour—or longer, depending on the number of speakers. I understand that you have important Town business to address, but many residents wish to speak, and it is in the best interest of the community to hear from as many as possible.
The October 14, 2025, meeting was standing-room-only, with overflow into the lobby. Numerous elderly residents and disabled veterans were unable to stand throughout the four-hour meeting and had to leave. Many became frustrated and felt disenfranchised, as their voices were effectively silenced. Some perceived the delay as a deliberate tactic to exhaust residents and prevent them from speaking.
You have asked residents to come forward and share their concerns. Extending the public comment period would demonstrate a genuine commitment to transparency and community engagement, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to be heard—especially during such a critical time for our Town.
Please prioritize the residents over developers this evening. This is an important opportunity for the Council to show its willingness to listen and to work collaboratively with residents who are experiencing significant financial hardship.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
